XIV JUMILLA WINE QUALITY CONTEST
3th and 4th of April 2008

Every year the Control Board of the Designation of Origin Jumilla organises a contest to award the best elaborations of the designation among the different types of white wines, rosé wines, young red wines and crianza wines. The jury of this contest is made up of 15 specialists, amongst whom can be found wine experts and directors of the main specialised national publications and technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture and from the autonomous communities of Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.

This contest has been organised since 1994 with the special aim of recognising the work of the wineries belonging to the designation on their quest to produce better and better quality wines. The event is a reference point both within the designation and in the world of Spanish wine in general since the Jumilla Quality Contest stands out for its rigorousness.

Over 80% of the wineries that commercialise bottled wine from the DO Jumilla participated in this XIV Quality Contest, and around 100 samples were tasted during the contest.
